March 2025:
Buildings set out in the pond
This was the first of our summer series of laying things out on the last Sunday of the month. We set out the oil rig and docks that have been made in the workshop, as well as a row of stakes for people to slalom through. One optimistic sailor misjudged the height of the rig and broke a mast when trying to sail under it. Fortunately it was an easy fix. It was great to see that setting these things out encouraged so many passing members of the public stop and say hello.

April 2025:
Navigation course
We set out a course of coloured marker buoys, lighthouses, and docks in the pond. People were invited to steer through the course, paying attention to the colour of the buoys to know on which side of them they had to pass. That was a detail added to catch out anyone not paying close attention. One part of the course involved docking the boat in reverse, with a special light system rigged up to illuminate when it had been completed. Some people even managed to complete the course when towing a barge.
